All you need to know about paper gsm
When paper is made it is weighed and given a gsm number, this means grams per square meter, so the number of grams a whole single sheet of paper or card measuring 1m x 1m weighs.
Our paper measures 178mm x 228mm, and Photocopier paper tends to be around 80gsm. Cardboard weight starts at 270gsm while writing paper tends to be printed on paper with either a 100 or 120gsm.
